2015 C Mintmark Remembrance Day $2 Coloured Carded Coin

Struck by the Royal Australian Mint dated 2015 this Remembrance Day coloured two dollar al/bronze uncirculated coin marks the 100th anniversary of the poem In Flanders Fields with an inscription of the poem on the reverse.

The reverse features sculpted larks surrounding the orange coloured rings representing the sunset glow. Within these rings is 'C' for Canberra mintmark. A solemn remembrance of the scene the brave soldiers endured In Flanders Fields.

The Ode is drawn from the poem For the Fallen, by the English poet Laurence Binyon, published in London in The Winnowing Fan: Poems of the Great War in 1914. This verse, which became The Ode for the Returned and Services League, has been used in association with commemorative services in Australia since 1921.
