The Royal Australian Mint has produced this fine silver $1 proof coin to acknowledge with pride the Centenary of Australian coinage.
Following Federation and the establishment of our first constitution, the Commonwealth Government set about creating a unified national currency to replace the system inherited from England and in 1910 the first Australian silver coins were issued.
