1993 Proof Year Set Landcare
Australia has been producing proof year sets ever since decimal currency was introduced in 1966.
Proof coins are the same as those we see in our change but are struck with specially prepared machinery on specially prepared blanks - the designs always stand out magnificently.
The focus of this set is water, and Australia's lack of it (sometimes, as we know, it's too much of it) To help raise awareness of the importance of water , the management and quality, the Royal Australian Mint and Landcare combined to produce the 1993 set. The unique dollar was designed by Vladmir Gottwald's and features a stylised tree formed out of flowing waters.
