1986 United Kingdom Brilliant Uncirculated Annual 8 Coin Collection
Please note: Photos displayed are stock photos as we may have multiple of the one item. The set is second hand and may have scuffing, writing, toning or slight tears to the outer box.
This collectible set includes a very special £2 coin to commemorate the 13th Commonwealth Games 1986 in a design by Normal Sillman. As the games were held in Edinburgh, the design consists of a thistle encircled by a laurel wreath laid on a St Andrew's Cross.
To celebrate 1986, the set hosts the new 3rd Portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf, FRSA, replacing the 2nd portrait by Arnold Machin, RA, FRSA.
1986 saw the first UK shopping mall in Gateshead, a Royal Family wedding, Labyrinth, David Bowie's fantasy film hit the Box Office, Neighbours and Casualty hit our screens, and launch of the Internet Mail Access Protocol (IMAP) enabled Email. This Royal Mint 1986 collection marks an extraordinary year for coinage and current affairs, and now you can purchase a piece of this historical year.
Struck at a higher standard than circulating or bullions coins and handled carefully to avoid any damage, Brilliant Uncirculated coins, although not as high value as Proof coins, are ideal for an entry-level collector or to mark an important milestone. This 1986 annual set features all 8 coins, which were in circulation during the course of a very special year.
