1982 United Kingdom Brilliant Uncirculated Annual Coin Collection

Please note: Photos displayed are stock photos as we may have multiple of the one item. The set is second hand and may have scuffing, writing, toning or slight tears to the outer box.

This coin set celebrates the year 1982, which witnessed the birth of Prince William and Channel 4, satellite TV launched in the UK, the Falklands conflict and Steven Spielberg's unleashing of ET.

Meanwhile, in the minting world, £1 coins were nonexistent, a twenty piece was introduced, and the halfpenny was still in circulation with fears that its demise would cause inflation as retailers rounded up prices to the nearest 1p.

This Royal Mint collection marks an extraordinary year for coinage and current affairs.

This Cupro-Nickel and Bronze uncirculated coin set was released to commemorate the coins of 1982 from The Royal Mint. This 1982 collection is of particular significance due to the introduction of a twenty pence piece and the removal of the word “New” from the coins for the first time since 1971 decimalisation.
