2022 C Remembrance Day Red Poppy Graded MS68

When the Royal Australian Mint released the Remembrance Day coloured $2 coin in November 2012, it signified a number of firsts for the organisation – first coloured coin released into circulation, first use of micro text on a circulating coin, and first time that the $2 coin reverse design had been changed since its introduction in 1988.

This was an important milestone for the mint and its ongoing development as a truly modern, world-leading centre of numismatic excellence. In the intervening decade, the mint has continued to release coloured $2 coins into circulation to commemorate major anniversaries and organisations.

With each release, the Australian public has embraced these small colour ‘Australian stories’ and engaged in an ongoing national passion for coin collecting. This stunning 2022 $2 C Mintmark Coloured Uncirculated Coin commemorates where this ever evolving national engagement all began, with the iconic red poppy design. Struck by the Royal Australian Mint, the coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and has a mintage of 60,000.
