1997 Sir Charles Kingsford Smith Fine Silver Proof $1 Coin

This limited edition 1997 $1 fine silver proof coin has been released to honour the centenary of the birth of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith. The reverse of this $1 coin was designed by the Mint's talented engraver Wojciech Pietranik. The design features a raised and frosted image of Sir Charles in flight dress with his famous tri-engine monoplane 'The Southern Cross'. The coin background presents a highly polished and mirror-like surface. 

This coin is encapsulated and cased accompanied with a certificate of authenticity.
